Robert Downey Jr., during an appearance on David Letterman’s show, admitted to pushing himself too much after losing against Tom Cruise. He admitted that he had startled Tom Cruise during a game of ping-pong on an especially intoxicated night. What began as a friendly game took a surprising turn when Cruise consistently outperformed Downey Jr.
“The first time I met Tom Cruise was at my friend’s home, and we were playing ping pong right. Cause he’s like, ‘let’s do something competitive’. So, I was playing ping pong with him. He clearly beat me 21 to 4, and I was ecstatic. Then I jumped over the net. This thing was splintered into about 6000 parts. “Clearly hammered.”
David Letterman could not contain his laughter when he heard Robert Downey Jr. react to his loss. He then asked Tom Cruise about his reaction. The MCU actor went on to tell how he did indeed manage to startle Top Gun actor with their behavior. Iron Man actor stated, “I think that he was feeling fear and sadness.” You know.
