In the first Thor film, Chris Hemsworth made his debut as God of Thunder. Tom Hiddleston was introduced as Loki aka God of Mischief. Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins played Odin, and Natalie Portman played Jane Foster. The film started with a disappointing opening. $65.7 Million only.

Paul Rudd may have been credited with giving the Avengers the concept of time travel but he would not get any credit for the success at the box office. This first film from Paul’s solo MCU series opened at just $57.2 million.

The Marvels has now surpassed the previous record of the MCU film that had the lowest box office debut. Edward Norton did not return to play Hulk after this film. This Norton MCU film only made $55.4 Million North America
