Kapil Dev, the Indian cricketer, has a strong opinion about Babar Azam. He believes that after the World Cup disaster, Pakistani skipper Babar Azam should be trusted with the role of captain.
The cricketing world is divided over Pakistan’s World Cup exit. Fans and experts are pointing the finger at Babar Azam for not performing up to expectations. Kapil Dev, a former World Cup winning captain, believes that Babar’s captaincy has an impact on his performance.
In a viral video, Kapil Dev urges people to stand up for Babar, saying: “Today, you will say Babar’s performance is poor because you see the current situation. The same captain had made Pakistan number one six months earlier. When someone scores a zero, 99 percent of people will drop him. Instead, they will support an ordinary player who scores one hundred, saying that he is the new superstar.
Don’t judge a player by his current performance. Look at the way he has played in difficult situations.

Kapil Dev’s strong remarks for Babar prove that he does need no one to prove how great a player he really is. The Pakistani skipper scored 250 runs, making him the third-highest run-scorer in Pakistan. He only scored three fifties in the WC and blew hot-and-cold. Babar was also hampered by field noise, as reports indicated that his relationship with PCB chief Zaka Asraf wasn’t so good.

Will Babar Azam continue to be the captain of the team after the World Cup disaster?
Azam has led Pakistan in three ICC events, but he has not been able to overcome the final hurdle. He has lost two T20 World Cups, one in semis and the last T20 World Cup Final against England. The 28-year old has also lost two Asia Cups and the latest is an exit from the group stage of the 50-over World Cup. Azam’s ODI and T20 captaincy may be taken away, according to rumors.
Azam is to be replaced by Shaheen Shah Afridi or Mohammad Rizwan. PCB is yet to make a formal announcement about the same.
