Ben Stokes – 16.25 crore (2023)

Ben Stokes is the Test captain of England. He was the top buy for the five time IPL champions. Stokes is well-known for his allround skills. He is a top all-rounder in the current crop. The English player, however, was not able make a big impact in IPL 2023 as he was injured in the middle.

Deepak Chahar – 14 crore (2022)

CSK’s Deepak Chahar was their most expensive purchase in the auction of 2022. The management bought him at the auction because the team could not retain him among the four players. He was bought for 14 crore. Chahar was injured a month prior to the IPL, which prevented him playing in the competition.

Ravindra Jadeja – 9.72 crore (2012)

CSK shocked everyone with their purchase in the IPL 2021 Auction. CSK bought Krishnappa Gowtham, an all-rounder from Karantaka for 9.25 crore. Gowtham didn’t play a match in the entire season. Moeen Ali, a spinner and all-rounder, was selected ahead of Gowtham.

Kedar Jadhav – 7.8 crore (2018)

Kedar Jadhav signed his biggest-ever IPL contract when CSK hired him for 7.8 crores in the 2018 mega auction. CSK saw him as a middle-order batting with the ability of occasionally bowling off-spin. Kedar has scored 1208 runs with zero wickets during the IPL.
