Afghanistan came very close to a historic victory when they held Australia to just 91 runs while defending an overall total of 291 in their final match. Glenn Maxwell’s outstanding display and a few missed opportunities on the field changed the tide, denying Afghanistan victory.

New Zealand thrashed Sri Lanka by five wickets last night, boosting their net run rate. Afghanistan must now defeat the South African team with a margin of at least 438 runs in order to surpass New Zealand.
