PFL officially disclosed the specifics of their agreement to take over Bellator starting in 2024.

PFL is the way of the future, as the French Kickboxing Welterweight phenom Cedric doumbe stated. Francis Ngannou also stated after signing with PFL that he had more opportunities at PFL as compared to UFC, and now with Bellators merging it might be bigger than UFC.

In a historic agreement for combat sports, the PFL chairman Donn Davis declared on Monday that the PFL has bought Bellator MMA.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Bellator’s former parent company, Paramount will continue to hold a minority stake. All Bellator fighters can participate on PFL platforms now, even though the Bellator name will still be around in 2024. 

How Does PFL Intend To Operate In The Fight Industry With UFC As Its Competitor

In 2024, PFL plans a “mega event” that will include champion vs champion competitions between the two corporations.

After months of speculation and rumors, PFL has officially revealed the details of their agreement to take Bellator over in 2024. PFL also stated that it intended to run the promotion independently in the near future, but they would be able share fighters and interesting information.

Fans, fighters and executives all reacted to the shocking news that changed the entire business.

With the Bellator acquisition, PFL was able to add a staggering amount of elite athletes, to the point where its roster of fighters is now on par with the UFC. Thirty-five percent of the PFL and UFC rosters are among the top 25 fighters in each weight class, according to independent rankings. PFL + Bellator boasts the most impressive female fighters lineup in the world. All Bellator fighters recently purchased will be able to participate in PFL battle franchises and join PFL platform.

PFL may surpass UFC in size within the next few years, based on current trends. Starfighters like Brett Okamoto, Jake Paul,  Sean O’Connell, Randy Costa, Josh Thomson, and many more have associated their names with PFL.
