For the fifth time in their ODI history, India’s top 4 batters registered 50+ run scores in IND vs NED World Cup 2023 game
India continued their rampage en route to the World Cup 2023 semi-finals as they took on Netherlands in the last game of the league stage. All the four top-order batsmen – Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer – brought up their half-centuries, even as India had over a dozen overs to spare.
The Indian top-order batsmen have now scored 50+ runs in the ODIs for the fifth time. India’s first incredible feat was achieved in 2006 against England in Indore. Then, they repeated it three times more before today’s IND vs NED match.
India’s top 4 register 50+ run knocks for the 5th time
Openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got the team off to a flying start, after India won the toss and chose to bat first. The Hitman scored 60 runs in 54 deliveries, while Gill scored 51 runs in a short time before departing.
