Kuldeep Yadav used to be the main spinner for India when playing white-ball cricket. The Chinaman had a great World Cup, and formed a deadly partner with Ravindra Jdeja. Kuldeep Yadav, however, was not selected to play in the T20 series with Australia. Even Kuldeep’s best friend Yuzvendrachahal hasn’t been selected for the five match T20 series starting on November 23 against the World Champions.
The BCCI selected Washington Sundar and Axar Patel as the spinners of the AUS Series. Is this a sign that fans won’t see the famous ‘KULCHA’ in the T20 setup? Kuldeep Chahal are rested for T20 series. Or are ‘KULCHA’ dropped from the T20 setup altogether? The selectors are the only ones who know the true answer. The T20 World Cup is set to begin on June 04, 2024. Selectors will need to identify the core members of the squad.
Kuldeep Chahal were last seen together in the same team when they played against Sri Lanka in the ODI in 2021. Due to tea combinations, since then only one of them has featured in the Indian XI. Since the duo can’t bat, India have been forced to only play either Kuldeep or Chahal in the playing XI.

Are selectors looking past KULCHA to the T20 World Cup for the T20 World Cup
The T20 World Cup schedule begins with the T20 Series against Australia. India has chosen Bishnoi and Sundar for the same. The two spinners played in the Asian Games team. Both players performed well, and they have been identified as the prime spinners of the T20 setup. Axar was also selected in the side, alongside Bishnoi Sundar. The southpaw who missed out on the World Cup has returned to the team.
In the last year, BCCI has preferred Axar to be the main spinner for the T20 squad. If the selectors find Bisnoi, and Sundar’s performance superb during the Australia series, then it would be tough for ‘KULCHA’ to make a comeback in the T20 setup.
