South Africa lost its sixth knockout match of the ODI World Cup when they were defeated by Australia at Eden Gardens.

The heartbreak of Team South Africa was felt again when they failed to qualify for final match at the Cricket World Cup. The Proteas fell to Australia by three wickets in the second semifinal of the WC, played at Eden Gardens. Fans on the internet have been slamming the Proteas. South Africa lost its sixth knockout match in ODI WC

This was South Africa’s 6th loss in a World Cup Knockout match. The Proteas’ first knockout match was in 1992, thanks to a bizarre DLS calculation. South Africa reached the World Cup semi-finals in 2015 but lost to New Zealand.

Earlier in their history, the Africans reached the quarter-finals for the 2011 WC and the semi-finals for the 2007 World Cup. As was mentioned above, the most recent loss in the World Cup knockouts occurred against Australia on Thursday at Eden Gardens.
