- Barcelona is slowly coming out of its injury-plagued stage. At least two of their key players will be missing. Gavi will miss this match. He will serve his suspension due to a booking he received in the last game. Sergi Roberto is also out with a calf issue.
- Two more key players are also doubtful for this match. Frenkie De Jong is recovering from an ankle problem. Ronald Araujo has had a long history of injuries. He was in pain after the Champions League match that took place this week. He should be able to play against Alaves.
- Coach Xavi had no love for the team’s performance at the Champions League. He should therefore make some changes to the team that started the match. Fermin Lopez should be called up to the starting line-up, along with Joao Felix and Jules Kounde. It’s unlikely that the coach will let Pedri play the entire match. He could start the match on the bench.

- Three players from El Glorioso are in their medical room recuperating from injuries. Aleksandar Sedlar’s goal was the only one that Alaves needed to win the match against Almeria at the weekend. He then suffered a serious knee injury. The defender is now out for the remainder of this season.
- Sedlar is not the only one who has been injured. Giuliano Simeone, Carlos Benavidez and others are also sidelined. Simeone suffered a severe leg injury two month ago. He has not recovered and it could take him until December to return. Benavidez did not play in the game last weekend against Almeria because of an undisclosed illness. He is doubtful for this match.
- The coach could use the same starting XI as he did against Almeria. Antonio Blanco, a former Real Madrid midfielder will also start against the reigning champions. Rafa Marina will take Sedlar’s place in the defensive line, but Sedlar is not available.
