Strengthening Your Body
Maninder will be the biggest strength of the team. The team showed their faith in him when they spent 2,12 crores. He has consistently scored more than 200 raid points over the last four years.
Bengal Warriors have also brought back Srikanth, who was also a member of the team in the previous season. This gives the team a good back-up to Maninder.
Shubham Shinde could also be bought back using the FBM card. The team will also have a strong corner combination with Nitin Rawal in the side.
Weakness
The raiding is another area where Bengal Warriors are weak. Maninder has been the main raider for the team. This season also, the team is without any other big names in the department, except for Srikanth Jadhav.
In terms of defence, the cover position is weak. Vaibhav garje is relatively new, having only made his debut last year. Dipak Shinde Shreyas Umbardand, for example, will be playing in the league for the very first time. There is a relative lack of experience in defence.
Opportunities
This season, Shrikanth Jadhav has the chance to take the lead. Last season he was under the shadow of Maninder. This season he will be playing second fiddle. However, if he matches the performance Maninder then it will bode well for Shrikanth as a player. He has been in the league quite some time now.
Threats
The team has been dominated by the same prominent players for the past two seasons. The Bengal Warriors’ performance in the two previous seasons has been poor.
It will be interesting how the core group of players puts the past behind them and starts the campaign fresh.
