Real Madrid faces injury conern. Vinicius Jr, the star forward who was injured in Brazil’s win over Colombia, will miss the rest of 2023.
Real Madrid announced that Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr. has suffered a serious injury in his left hamstring. He is expected to be out for 10 weeks.
Vinicius, who was with Brazil’s squad during this week’s international break, was injured in the 27th minutes of the match against Columbia.
Vinicius Junior was earlier excluded from the Brazil team’s match against Argentina. He left the Selecao for Madrid, where he underwent additional tests at the club facilities.
The test results were not what Los Blancos fans and Selecao supporters wanted to hear.
Real Madrid Statement
A statement from the club read: “Following today’s tests performed by the Real Madrid Medical Services on our player Vinicius Junior, he was diagnosed with a tear of his left femoral Bicep that is affecting his hamstring tendon. His recovery will continue to be monitored.”
Although the club didn’t provide a specific timeframe, The Athletic The forward is expected to be out of action for 10 weeks or so due to a thigh issue. The forward will be out until at least the end January and won’t be a member of the Madrid squad for the next two month.
The former Flamengo prodigy is now a key Real Madrid player, having made 238 appearances in his 23 years.
